Business, entertainment, education and ministry leaders are expected to attend the 2014 Detroit Economic Empowerment Summit, July 18-19 in Detroit. More than 3,500 are expected to attend, say event organizers.
The summit will be hosted by entrepreneur and global ministry leader Dr. Bill Winston. The conference theme is “Empowered by the Blessing” and will be held at Straight Gate International Church (10100 Grand River Avenue). The two-day event is free and open to the public.
Through daytime workshops and evening speaker sessions, those in both the church and business arena will learn how to dominate in their industries and impact the economic destiny of their city, organizers say.
Keynote and workshop speakers include: Dr. Michele Hoskins, entrepreneur and CEO of Michele Foods; Ken Brown, inspirational speaker, author, and entrepreneur; Dr. Dennis Kimbro, author and educator whose years of research document how successful and wealthy people think differently; John Hope Bryant, founder, chairman, and CEO of Operation HOPE and Bryant Group Companies, Inc. and author of “How The Poor Can Save Capitalism”; Dr. Bill Winston, pastor, entrepreneur, and CEO of the Joseph Business School and Bill Winston Ministries ; Bishop Andrew Merritt, pastor, Straight Gate International Church. Donald Lawrence, a multiple Grammy and Stellar Award winner, will be the guest musical artist.
Afternoon workshops will be held on July 19, from 1-4 p.m., focusing on leadership development, financial management, organizational strategy, entrepreneurship and business certification. Doors open for the evening session at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on The Word Network.
