Those who serve as apologists for the right-peopling of Detroit lead the compassion divide. You wanted the 10-year-old hit by the truck charged for being a 10-year-old child. Mama is dead. Somehow a baby survived days alone as the Almighty wrapped the baby in life sustaining arms. Where is the public fundraising safety net for that Black baby? The compassion divide widens.
Sometimes I feel like it is Michigan Citizen Groundhog Day and I am writing the same column over and over. More than a year ago, I said the Detroit City Council’s only purpose was to legitimate the illegitimate actions of the Negro proxy emergency manager of democracy-destroying, union-busting Gov. Snyder.
On March 21, 2013 B.C. (Before Cushingberry) Detroit Raw: “All Council and former Mayor Bing can do is get in the way, and serve to legitimize the illegitimate Democracy Destroying moves of Mayor Snyder and Snyder’s Black proxy that snaps the whip. They ought to turn in their do-nothing badges and get the hell out of the Coleman A. Young building — right damn now.”
It’s gotten worse.
The list of council transgressions against the people of Detroit is too long to political blight clutter this column. Now, the federal judge handling the Detroit bankruptcy restructuring of Detroit wants the Detroit Council and mayor to commit to the bankruptcy plan. What will the neutered Detroit Council and mayor do?
Council should vote no, but has been castrated. That is the real tragedy of Councilman Cushingberry. Cush from county commissioner to the Michigan legislature was prepped to lead on fiscal issues, but is mired in his own mess, running an insurmountable credibility deficit that worsens with each tick of the political clock.
Detroit has suffered a home invasion; what level of force is needed? Instead of your TV, it’s Belle Isle, Cobo, the water and your humanity that has been stolen, as Detroit is raped at will. One journalistic cracker, Crain, says you need a permanent overseer using the language of slavery, which doesn’t seem to bother you even as Django Reverend Lonnie Peek protects Belle Isle, scolding on behalf of purveyors of white privilege but not a word to Penske who has perverted natural Isle beauty with concrete blight to guide pollution-spewing racecars.
If you have no added value such as a degree or training that makes you techno-literate, you will be included in Detroit human blight removal as Detroit right-peoples those permitted to enjoy the First Detroit. You simply do not want to be a resident of the Second Detroit whose residents are the wrong people (Black, poor and single female head of household).
We must never let haters cause us to lose hope or dislike ourselves and never let haters make you weak in your faith. Keep the faith. Stay on the battlefield.
