On any given Sunday, hundreds of Detroiters gather in a vacant lot at St. Aubin and Frederick streets to enjoy good music, good food and good company. For several years, a group of residents in the east side neighborhood have prepared for Sunday’s activities the Saturday before, mowing the lot and cleaning the area. Over 300 residents ages 40 and older enjoy Blues music, dancing, catfish dinners, barbecue and chess games.
