Members of Detroiters-Resisting Emergency Managers (D-REM) join Moratorium Now and Eviction Defense members in outreach July13 on Oakman Blvd. to knock on doors, distribute literature and talk to residents about emergency management, predatory lending by banks and the state of the city. Almost everyone was opposed to emergency managers, Fred Vitale said, but they often didn’t know what EMs were doing, who they work for and what can be done to stop them. The groups plan to go out each Saturday and will meet at 9:30 a.m. at 5920 Second Ave. July 20 to visit another neighborhood.
