Effective April 27, the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement minor weekday and weekend service changes. The city’s transportation department officials say, changes are based on transit demands and designed to improve travel-time efficiencies for customer usage. The following routes will be affected by these adjustments:
Weekday service changes
#25 Jefferson/Fort
Because of reconstruction of the Bascule Draw Bridge, eastbound and westbound bus service will take six minutes longer between Fort/Miller and Fort/Schaefer through 2015. The eastbound detour will use northbound Miller Road to westbound Dix to eastbound Oakwood and then back to Fort Street.
#38 Plymouth
Added service: An eastbound trip has been added at 4:10 a.m. from Middlebelt/Schoolcraft to Woodward/Trowbridge.
#48 Van Dyke
Because of reconstruction on I-94, northbound and southbound bus service will take three minutes longer between Van Dyke/Warren and Van Dyke/Harper through November 2013.
#54 Wyoming
Northbound service at 7:30 a.m. from Wyoming/Joy and southbound service at 8:10 a.m. from Wyoming/Eight Mile will be eliminated.
Saturday service change
#25 Jefferson/Fort
Because of reconstruction of the Bascule Draw Bridge, eastbound and westbound bus service will take five minutes longer between Fort/Miller and Fort/Schaefer through 2015.
#48 Van Dyke
Because of reconstruction on I-94, northbound and southbound bus service will take three minutes longer between Van Dyke/Warren and Van Dyke/Harper through November 2013.
Sunday service change
#25 Jefferson/Fort
Because of reconstruction of the Bascule Draw Bridge, eastbound and westbound bus service will take five minutes longer between Fort/Miller and Fort/Schaefer through 2015.
#48 Van Dyke
Northbound and southbound bus service will take five minutes longer between the approximate hours of 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Also, due to reconstruction on I-94, northbound and southbound bus service will take two minutes longer between Van Dyke/Warren and Van Dyke/Harper through November 2013.
