Lea Rogers is the 2014 valedictorian of Highland Park Renaissance Academy where she excelled academically and was also on the cheer and volleyball teams.
Rogers has been accepted and will attend Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga., in the fall, where she will major in biology. After completing her undergrad education, Rogers plans to attend Johns Hopkins University and become a doctor.
Rogers is the youngest of six siblings, all of whom were high school honor students. Dershon and Leo Rogers, their parents, stressed the importance of education to all their children.
