The one-and-a-half hour classes, held in Belle Isle’s Boat Club building, will be offered at different times between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. weekdays. The three-week program costs $200 and is available to any middle/high school students interested. Space is limited and participants must know how to swim and be able to manage a 12-foot oar. FDR members say students will begin to learn the rowing stroke on indoor machines, before advancing to rowing a competitive racing shell with other students out on the open water.
