5th Precinct
CIRCUMSTANCES: On April 1 at approximately 12:25 p.m. in the Cadieux/Marne area, officers received a police run to the area for a person with a weapon. When the officers arrived, they observed a person matching the description of the wanted suspect toss a plastic bag containing suspected narcotics to the ground. Upon further investigation, officers recovered a handgun from the suspect. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Detroit Detention Center.
8th Precinct
CIRCUMSTANCES: On April 1 at approximately 2:20 p.m. in the 19900 block of Rosemont, officers affected a traffic stop on a purple ‘97 Chrysler. Upon approach of the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle (suspect) yelled to officers that he was armed with a gun. The officers advised to the suspect to step out of the vehicle and upon further investigation it was discovered the suspect did not have valid Concealed Pistol License. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Detroit Detention Center without incident.
6th Precinct
CIRCUMSTANCES: On April 1 at approximately 11:15 a.m. in the 20700 block of Lyndon, officers observed a known suspect walking in the street where sidewalks are provided. When the officers pulled up and the suspect looked at them, the suspect fled from officers. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended and the officers recovered a handgun from the suspect. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Detroit Detention Center for processing without further incident.
9th Precinct
CIRCUMSTANCES: On April 1 at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the Manning/Schoenherr area, officers were patrolling the area when they observed a narcotic transaction take place. When the officers approached to investigate, the suspect attempted to run into the store at the location. The officers stopped the suspect and could smell the odor of marijuana emanating from him. Upon further investigation, the officers confiscated 66 bags of suspected marijuana from the suspect. The suspect was arrested and conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center for processing without incident.
11th Precinct
CIRCUMSTANCES: On April 1 at approximately 12:20 a.m. in the Charest/Emery area, officers from the 11th precinct received a police run to the area of Charest and Emery for “shots fired.” While officers were canvassing the area, they observed two suspects walking down the street. When the officers stopped to ask if the suspects heard anything, one suspect fled from officers holding his sweatshirt pocket. The suspect was apprehended and a handgun was recovered. The suspect was arrested and conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center for processing.
12th Precinct
CIRCUMSTANCES: On April 1 at approximately 3:50 p.m. in the 10000 block Eight Mile, officers were on surveillance of a gas station in the area, due to multiple narcotic complaints. The officers observed a narcotic transaction take place. They apprehended the suspect and recovered 22 knotted bags and five Ziploc bags of suspected marijuana. The suspect was arrested and conveyed to the Detroit Detention Center for processing.
