DEARBORN — The Detroit City Chess Club won first place in the K-3 (elementary) section and K-8 (junior high) section at the Michigan State Club Chess Championship, held Nov. 9 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. This event was sponsored by the Michigan Chess Association.
The DCCC also earned 5th place in both the K-12 (high school) section and the K-5 (elementary) section.
Young people from across the region competed in the tournament including players from Windsor, Ontario and as far away as Lansing, Mich.
