Justice advocates gathered in Grand Circus Park Nov. 16 rallying for the conviction of Theodore Wafer who is charged with killing Renisha Mcbride on his Dearborn Heights porch Nov. 2.
Organized by the International Socialist Organization in conjunction with the Detroit chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) and the Detroit Eviction Defense, the demonstration marched through downtown Detroit circling past the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice ending with a candle light vigil in Grand Circus Park.
“I just wanted to be there to let them know that the McBride family appreciates their concern,” Ron Scott, chair of the Detroit Coalition against Police Brutality.
“I’m going to give this candle to the McBride family, they’ve asked to have it.”
